Paper Bag Vampire Craft for Kids

Sharing is caring!

When you have little ones, you want to keep Halloween as kid-friendly as possible. No scary costumes or decorations. Think instead funny witches and goofy Frankenstein. This silly paper bag vampire craft goes along these lines.  I even had my kindergartner’s help me make this vampire look childish and zany.

Paper bag vampire craft for kids

We have used paper bags before for our Halloween crafts and made a stuffed paper bag black cat. As a parent I appreciate when I can use materials that I already have in my household and I don’t have to start a craft with a visit to the craft store.

Our paper bag vampire craft leaves a lot of room to creativity and improvisation.

Vampire paper bag craft variations:

  • Use a black marker to draw the vampire’s hair instead of cutting it out from black paper
  • Replace the regular googly eyes with glow in the dark googly eyes for a spooky look
  • Paint the entire bottom of the paper bag black and make the white shirt from a triangle cut out from white paper
  • Use red construction paper to give Dracula a cape that you can glue at the back of the paper bag

Step 1: Start by painting the paper bag. Use purple for the head, white for the shirt and black for the rest.

If you’re doing this craft with a young kid you may want to skip the shirt and use just purple for the head and black for the rest.

Or you can cut out a triangle out of white paper and glue it on top of the paper bag, once the black paint has dried completely.

Step 2: Cut out the hair from black paper. Glue it at the top of the purple area.

Step 3: Glue the googly eyes underneath the hair.

Step 4: Cut out a smiley mouth from red paper and fangs of three different sizes from white paper. Glue them onto the paper bag, at the bottom of the purple area.

Step 5: Cut a bow tie from red paper and glue it on top of the white triangle. For an easy bow tie, you can cut two triangles and glue them together.

Step 6: Glue a red pom pom on top of the tie bow and a red button under the white triangle.
