I discovered the chocolate coated strawberries in Brussels. I lived in Belgium for a year and a half and while I’m an avid traveler and used any free time I got to explore every corner of this beautiful country I also didn’t give back from discovering its culinary specificity. I tried many new food combinations be it salty or sweet: French fries with mayonnaise, cantaloupe and prosciutto or chocolate covered orange peel.

Strawberry and chocolate is a combo that stuck with me and I try to replicate it in many different ways. Strawberries drizzled with melted chocolate and topped with whipped cream is a version I like, for instance. The chocolate and strawberry treats I’m about to present to you is another great combo that only requires a few minutes to make and brings together reach and creamy chocolate pudding with fresh strawberries and cookies.

As spring has finally sprung here in Minnesota and the kids and I spend a lot of time outdoors, I thought it would be nice to turn our treats into take-along snacks that are easy to carry and easy to eat on the go. Because two of the ingredients come in plastic cups that won’t leak, the Go-Paks! are good grab-and-go snack containers so I added all the ingredients to these containers.

You can take the snacks in your purse, enjoy them on the go or in your own backyard. Share them with your kids or make them when the children are at school. One of my personal favorites: a chocolate and strawberry treat and a good book on the deck. After all a happy mom means a happy family.

Here are all the ingredients you’ll need:

Chocolate and strawberry treats on the go

Start with the chocolate Snack Pack pudding and scoop the content of one or two pudding cups into one of the Go-Paks! containers.  Place a few Go-Paks! CHIPS AHOY! mini chocolate chip cookies into a plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin. Sprinkle the cookie crumbs on top of the pudding. If you want to save time, you can definitely use the whole cookies, they are mini after all.

Top the pudding with a chopped strawberry. Spray a little Reddi-wip on top and garnish with a mini OREO.

I first made the chocolate and strawberry treats on a weekend and the kids could hardly wait for me to be done with the photos so they could stuff their faces with them. This isn’t only a fun and easy snack to make but also very affordable considering that you  combine one pudding cup, three mini cookies, a strawberry and a dollop of whipped cream. You can basically create this snack for less than $3 and this is fantastic.

In case you don’t need the chocolate and strawberry treats on the go, you can skip the scooping step and make them directly in the pudding cups.

Ingredients:

  • Chocolate Snack Pack Pudding Cup
  • Go-Paks! CHIPS AHOY! Mini Chocolate Cookies
  • Go-Paks! Mini OREO Golden Sandwich Cookies
  • Strawberries
  • Reddi-wip

Instructions:

  • Top the chocolate pudding with crushed chocolate chip cookies
  • Add a layer of chopped strawberries
  • Spray a little bit of Reddi-wip on top
  • Garnish with a mini OREO

Next time you go to Walmart, make sure to visit the dairy aisle for the Reddi-wip, the snack aisle for the Snack Pack pudding cups and just before checking out grab some Go-Paks! (they are situated at the registers) and turn them into chocolate and strawberry snacks for you and your family.
