DIY Pencil Holders

Sharing is caring!

If you are looking for cute and creative DIY pencil holders with easy step by step instructions, I put together a list of 10 adorable pencil holders for kids.

10 DIY pencil holders with unique designs that use wood as well as recycled materials

With unique designs, these DIY pencil holders use simple supplies such as LEGOs and wood, while most of them are made with recycled materials, like plastic bottle, paper roll or tin cans.

Perfect for kids and adults, these handmade pencil holders will help you declutter your desk and organize your pens, pencils and crayons.

My preschooler is not much into crafting but if I ask him if he’d like to draw or paint, he’ll always say “yes”.

Right now all my kids’ crayons are on my desk mixed with my own pencils and pens. I dream of the day when their art supplies will have their own place and maybe create one of these DIY pencil & crayon holders.

A rustic and super easy DIY pencil holder. All you need is a piece of wood either from a large branch or tree base. You sand it, drill some holes and you’re done!

If you like a wooden crayon holder but want a more polished look, this may be your answer. I love projects that use scraps and this is one of them. You can either follow the given plan or adapt it accordingly to your needs and make it longer or drill more crayon slots. Write your child’s name to make it more personal.

Because of the larger holes, this one can accommodate more pencils and crayons and still look great.

Wood isn’t the only material that can be turned into a pencil & crayon holder. You will be surprised to see how many of the things from your recycling bin can be given a second life. Like these shampoo bottles, for instance.

I’ve seen toilet paper rolls turned into lots of stuff, from toys to Christmas decorations. Why not recycle them into a pencil & crayon holder, too?

A rainbow crayon holder is a beautiful addition to your kid’s art desk, which will also help him/her with organizing the crayons by color, at least the first few times.

Boys come with Lego, the same way girls come with dolls. This is a fun project they would like to try on their own, I’m sure.

Minions are very popular these days and I have to say they do look cute on anything, including a pencil holder.

I have never worked with plastic canvas but this project looks easy enough for a beginner. Just cut and stitch!

I love how these help promote sharing by making everything accessible from multiple angles. My children fight over crayons because we don't have a fancy holder. I see a DIY project in the future! Thank you for sharing this with us on Welcome Home Wednesday! We hope to see more from you next week.
