Paper roll ghosts

Sharing is caring!

Adorable paper roll ghost craft kids can make for Halloween. Fill the ghosts up with candy or small toys and turn them into Halloween treats.

Sometimes my boys come up with craft ideas but most of the times it’s me the designer behind our crafts.

This time, though, it was one of our readers who suggested the paper roll ghosts.

When she saw our apple core craft, she wrote to me about using paper rolls and cupcake liners to make ghosts. I love it I may even try to make some paper roll snowmen when winter comes.

I usually try to add a handmade touch to the school Halloween treats for my kids. One year because my son was dressed up as Captain Hook, I made pirate hats for all his classmates.  Another time I sewed the Halloween bags myself.

These paper roll ghosts would be such a nice handmade addition to any Halloween classroom treat. You can also fill them up with candy or non-candy treats.

You don’t have to necessarily turn these paper roll ghosts into Halloween treats. They are easy Halloween crafts to make with toddlers, preschoolers and older kids.

All you need is a few materials that you may already have in your household. Plus you’ll get to recycle some paper rolls.

An inexpensive craft makes me happy. What about you?

Decorate your house with as many paper roll ghosts as you can make or, if you are a teacher, use this idea in your classroom with your students.

For an extra special touch, you can even give the ghosts some glowing noses, like we did with our paper cup ghosts.

How to make a paper roll ghost craft

Step 1: Start by painting the paper rolls white. Wait for the first coat to dry and then apply another coat of white paint.

Step 2: Use a black marker to draw the ghost’ eyes and mouth in the middle of the paper roll. You can add a glowing nose to your ghosts. See our paper cup ghosts for details.

Step 3: Glue one cupcake liner at the bottom of the paper roll.

Step 4: Fill up the paper roll ghost with your choice of Halloween treats. Skip this step if you don’t plan to turn the paper roll ghosts into Halloween treats.

Step 5: Glue a cupcake liner on top of the paper roll.

NOTES:

You can use Elmer’s glue but it will take longer to dry or you can go a for glue gun that will have the job done in no time.

If your kids are too young to use a hot glue gun you can either do the gluing yourself or give your child a cold glue gun. ( This glue gun has adjustable temperature which means that both you and your kids can use it)
