Torn Paper Turkey Craft

Sharing is caring!

We have created many paper plate turkey crafts throughout the years and we still have a few more ideas. Today it’s time for a torn paper turkey craft that is glued onto a paper plate, of course.

Easy paper plate turkey craft

Our turkey craft is great for young kids who will love to tear paper of different colors for the turkey’s feathers. Preschoolers and kindergartners can also cut out squares or other small shapes from paper. But there is something satisfying about tearing paper for young kids as well as older kids and even adults. 🙂

You can let your kid pick any color they want or go with the colors that we have chosen for our turkey. Also you can make the turkey’s head beige, orange or purple instead of brown.

Torn paper turkey variations:

  1. Cut out pieces of paper, instead of tearing them
  2. Use different colors for the feathers or the turkey’s head
  3. Glue the head in the middle of the paper plate, instead of the bottom

How to make a torn paper turkey craft

Start by tearing construction paper into small pieces. We used brown, beige, yellow, red, purple and pink. Originally we wanted to make the turkey head orange and that’s why we skipped orange from the feathers.

Glue a first circle of torn paper onto the paper plate rim.

brown circle

Glue more circles of torn paper onto the paper plate until you cover the entire paper plate.

turkey feathers

Use a round container like a mug or glass to trace a circle on brown construction paper. Cut out the turkey’s beak from yellow paper and its snood from red paper and glue them onto the brown circle.

Add two big googly eyes above the beak.

turkey head

Glue the head at the bottom of the paper plate.
