Handprint Chinese New Year Dragon Craft

• Chinese dragon free template – find it at the end of the article
• Colored pencils – my favorites
• Colored paper
• 65 lb black cardstock paper for the background
• Pencil
• Scissors
• Decorative edge scissors
• Glue

How to make the handprint Chinese New Year dragon craft

Download the free Chinese dragon template (Find it at the end of the article).

Color and cut out the dragon. Young kids may need help with the cutting because of the dragon’s details.

Use decorative edge scissors to cut out strips of colorful paper.

Glue the paper strips at the back of the dragon’s head.

Trace your kid’s hand on yellow and red paper.

Cut out the handprints and glue them on a black cardstock paper, alternating the colors.

Glue the dragon’s head at the top of the handprints.
