Have you ever tried monoprinting with your kids? It’s an interesting painting technique that my own boys love. They used it to make their Valentine’s Day cards for their classmates and teachers. They had to make more than 20 each but monoprinting made it easy and they really enjoyed it. With St Patrick’s Day just next weekend we decided to make a monoprint four leaf clover craft.
Each clover will turn out different than the one before and that’s why monoprinting is so much fun.
We have already decorated with paper plate St Patrick’s Day wreaths that my kindergartner and I made last weekend but you can’t have too make shamrocks, right? These four leaf clovers can be glued on a string and turned into a beautiful garland to hang by the fireplace.
For more rainbow, shamrock and leprechaun ideas, check out our St Patrick craft collection.

How to make a monoprint four leaf clover
Start by squirting green paint onto the tin foil. Spread it with a paint sponge or roller.
Use a Q-tip or a Q-tip bundle to create random shapes on paint.
Press the four leaf clover template onto the tin foil, making a monoprint of your drawing.
Peel the four leaf clover template off and let it dry.
Draw again with a Q-tip and make another monoprint clover.
After making two monoprints you can add a bit more green paint and repeat.
Once the paint has dried on the templates, cut out the clovers.
