St Patrick’s Day Wreath Craft

Sharing is caring!

Paper plate wreaths are a fun way to decorate for every holiday. Shamrocks, rainbows and pots of gold are great for hanging around the house. We have combined all these elements into one St Patrick’s Day wreath craft.

What better way to celebrate St Patrick’s Day with kids than with some simple crafts?  This will be the second year my kids will also make a leprechaun trap and they wanted me to save one big box for their project. I am very curious to see how it will turn out.

Questions about the St Patrick’s Day wreath

Where can I find a clover pattern for the wreath?

I have included at the end of this post a free template for you. It includes the four clover leaf as well as the pot of gold.

My kid is too young to handle the cutting of the four clover leaf. What are some alternatives?

A four clover leaf can be a challenging shape for a kid to cut out. Young kids may get frustrated trying to cut it out and we don’t want any tears during our crafting.

An alternative would be for an adult to cut out the shape and for the child to glue it to the paper plate. Another way is to use a four leaf clover punch.

I haven’t found one that is that big but we have this little one and my kindergartner loved using it. He made several small clovers and glued them around the paper plate wreath. At the end, he decided that his looked even better than mine.

Can we color the paper plate instead of painting it?

Of course. You can definitely use crayons instead of paint. Markers are another alternative.
