Have you ever tried paper plate yarn weaving? This was our first time and because we’re going through an apple craft phase, we just had to try a paper plate yarn weaving apple craft. We love how our apple core turned out and will most certainly use this technique again. There is one easy trick though you need to know about circle yarn weaving. You can find it below, along with the rest of the instructions.
We enjoy crafting with paper plates and yarn is another of our favorite materials. We have combined them many times and came up with cute and easy crafts for kids.

How to make a paper plate yarn weaving apple craft
Step 1: Paint the outside of the paper plate red and let it dry.
Step 2: Cut several notches around the edges of the plate. Here is the trick I was mentioning above: It has to be an odd number of notches. If you count mine you will discover 12 and yes, I know this is not an odd number. What can I say, it has been a trial and error for me. Because of this, I had to skip while weaving, which makes the entire process more difficult.
Step 3: Wrap yarn around the paper plate, sliding it through all the slits and tie it at the back of the paper plate.
Step 4: Cut yarn into long strips and tie one of these strips to the center of the criss-crossed yarn in the middle of the plate.
Step 5: Weave the yarn strip under and over the yarn on the paper plate until you finish it. You may want to use a plastic yarn needle for an easier weaving experience. If you need more yarn, tie two strips together. Continue till you reach the red painted edges.
Step 6: Cut 3 or 4 seeds out of black construction paper and glue them on top of the yarn.
Step 7: Make two little leaves from tissue paper and clip them to the paper plate with a wooden clothespin.
