Paper roll crafts are among our favorite and with 4th of July around the corner, we’re making a paper roll American flag craft for kids.
If you like to decorate your home for the holiday, these paper roll American flags are super cute to place on the fireplace mantel. You can even place battery candles inside them to enjoy at night.
Because we like easy crafts for kids, these American flags are no exception. Just paint and cut and turn some ordinary paper rolls into our favorite flag.

Supplies:
- Paper rolls
- Red, white and blue paint
- Paint brush
- White card stock paper
- Glue
- Pencil
- Scissors
Step 1: Start by painting the bottom 1” of the paper rolls blue and let it dry completely.
Step 2: Paint red and white stripes to cover the rest of the paper roll. Paint the stripes vertically. If you want to have the stripes equally divided, you may want to use a pencil to draw them first and then hand it to your kids for painting. Otherwise, free painting is great.
To make sure that the white and red paint don’t get mixed up and you end up with a pink flag, paint the red or white stripes first, let dry and then do the other color.
Step 3: Draw a few stars on white card stock paper, cut them out and glue at the bottom of the paper rolls, on the blue part.
Step 4: Use the scissors to cut the stripes. Follow the lines between the red and white colors.
