If you have a little “Bee Movie” fan in your family or one who loves honey, here is a paper roll bee craft for her/him to try. This is also a simple craft to welcome spring, with all its beautiful flowers and buzzing insects. A perfect addition to an insect study unit or just a fun way to celebrate Earth Day with a recycled craft.
We love recycling crafts and paper roll crafts are among our favorites. It’s so much fun to be able to turn a little paper roll into anything you want, from a panda family to moms or dads.
This bee is a nice addition to our spring craft collection and if you’re looking for more insect ideas, make sure to check out our bee crafts, butterfly crafts and ladybug crafts.

Supplies:
- Paper roll (toilet paper roll or towel paper roll)
- Yellow and black paint
- Googly eyes
- Black pom poms
- Mini wooden clothespins
- Glue
- Black marker
- Yellow mini doily
How to make a paper roll bee craft
Step 1: Paint the paper roll yellow and set aside to dry completely. Paint 2 or 3 black stripes around the paper roll.
Step 2: Glue on the googly eyes. You can also use glow in the dark googly eyes. I know my kids love everything glow in the dark, from paint to clay.
Step 3: Paint one side of the wooden pins black. Once the paint has dried, glue the black pom poms at the top of the clothespins. You will use them for the bee antennae.
Step 4: Use a black marker to draw a little mouth
Step 5: Glue the yellow doily at the back of the paper roll.
