We started including handprints to our crafts only last week. The rainbow butterflies were such a big hit with my boys and they asked for more handprinting. I was thrilled because I had already million of ideas running through my head. First on the list was this paper roll ladybug craft.
I love working with paper rolls and giving them a second life before they make it into the recycling bin. I think by now we have made a paper roll craft for each season or holiday.

Step 1: Paint the paper rolls black. You only need to apply one layer of paint.
Step 2: While the paper rolls dry, you can make the handprints. We prefer to make them on white foam sheets but you can also use white cardstock paper or regular paper.
Step 3: Cut out the handprints and use a marker to draw the black spots. We originally left this at the end, but it would be easier to do it now, before gluing the wings to the paper rolls.
Step 4: Glue the handprints and googly eyes to the paper rolls.
Step 5: Make small antennae from pipe cleaners and pom poms and glue them to the inside of the paper rolls.
