You may consider pulling up the Christmas story from the Bible, but this handy craft gives you visual cues so that you don’t have to!

An easy coloring craft for kids to tell the Nativity story on their own

To begin, have your child color the portion with Mary and the angel.

Talk about how Mary was a servant of God. She didn’t have extraordinary accomplishments, she hadn’t won Olympic medals or was a celebrity. She was a normal girl!

And yet, her devotion to the Lord was extraordinary to God!

An angel appeared to her and told her that she would become pregnant with the Son of God!

What a special calling. Mary was afraid at first but then said that she trusted God.

Next, Mary and Joseph travel to Bethlehem. Joseph was engaged to Mary, and God told him about the amazing child she was carrying. He took good care of Mary.

When they arrived in Bethlehem, they found many other visitors there, too! There were so many people that they had nowhere to stay!

They went to a place where animals slept, like cows and donkeys, and Mary gave birth to Jesus there. They placed him in a manger, which is what animals eat out of.

The angels rejoiced at Jesus’ birth and told some shepherds who were in a field nearby. The shepherds wanted to see the baby, so they traveled to Bethlehem.

There were also wise men who followed a bright star in the sky to find the promised king–Jesus! They made their way to Bethlehem to give him gifts.

Once the five slides are completed, finish coloring the outward cover with the title. Tell your child about the miracle of Jesus’ birth–he is our King! This is the true meaning of Christmas.

After everything is colored, cut out the two sections and use the fastener to place them together.

Your child will love having the Nativity Story Spinner. It will give them the opportunity to not only remember the story but to share it with others!

Encourage them to retell the story using the craft! You’ll love hearing it back from your little one!
