All of my kids love to be outside and love to explore nature. I am always finding rocks and sticks around the house from their latest outside adventure, so I decided to put together this Discovering Nature Kit for one of my son’s birthday that is fast approaching! I am sure he (and his siblings) will love it!

To start putting the kit together, I found a great nature book. There are so many great nature books out there! I also found a fun magnifying glass. The magnifying glass is plastic, so it’s perfect for kids, but it still works great! I know he (and also his brothers) will especially be excited about this because they love to observe bugs outside!
I also bought a small notebook and made a printable to glue on the front, to make the Discover Nature Field Journal. It will be great for writing about or drawing pictures of the things that my kids find outside. They can also use it to make leaf rubbings or tree back rubbings. On occasion, I am going to write things in the journal for them to find outside and mark off, a little nature scavenger hunt!
Oh, I am so excited to give the Discovering Nature Kit to him for his birthday and then go out and use it as a family!
