The things that intrigue young kids’ fascination for a certain character, book or anything else are sometimes interesting, to say the least. Other times you don’t even know what started it. Take my oldest obsession with pink, for instance. I have no clue how he got hooked on this color. All I know is that he chooses to draw everything pink (and purple) and dreams of a pink car. A real one. He already has a pink toy car. On the other hand, I know how Spider-Man become his favorite character. It is the same thing that turned little brother into the biggest Batman fan. A hat! A winter hat. One brother had a Spider-Man hat, the other a Batman hat.
I have to admit kids’ fascination for one character or another has one advantage that saves us time and energy. Let me give you an example. Finding a theme for my youngest third birthday party was a no brainer. My hubby and I (though it would have been mostly me) didn’t have to wrack our brains to come up with a theme. We knew from day one: Batman party!
I love themed birthday parties and though I usually don’t go the extra mile to plan one, I feel like I kinda did for this one.
Here is one thing I particularly enjoyed making:

They are really easy to put together. The only item that will require some time to make is the box of crayons. Yes, the little black box with the Batman sign contains a few crayons. I made the boxes myself out of black card stock and applied a Batman sticker on each. One of my friends couldn’t believe I’d made the boxes myself 🙂 They did look professional…:)
Here is what you’ll need to make these Batman party favors
– clipboards (This is the best deal I could find online)
You can find the last three items at any craft store. As for the coloring paper, there are plenty of online choices. All free. I edited mine to include a thank you note.
An alternative to the crayon box would be Batman shaped crayons. You’ll need a silicone mold to make the latter. I had a hard time deciding between the two as I think they both would look great .
You can adapt this party favor idea to any superheros or other characters.
