I don’t expect any handmade card or crafted gift from my boys this Mother’s Day unless they make it at preschool. Considering I’m the crafty one in my family I should help them create it and this would totally spoil the surprise. Instead I thought of asking them and their dad to make something for all of us to enjoy together: a dessert. You don’t see my husband in the kitchen too often (read: almost never) so this would really be a great Mother’s Day gift.
I browsed the foodie blogs for some easy no-bake recipes and managed to put together a list of 7 desserts that young bakers and dads should have no problem making. These are among my favorites and I hope you’ll also enjoy them. Some at the end of the list look really complicated but you’ll be surprised to see how easy they are in fact. I’m very curious to see what my boys’ choice will be.

I can’t believe how simple this raspberry chocolate tart is. It looks so sophisticated but it only takes ten minutes to make it. If my boys will go with this recipe, I’m sure much of the chocolate ganache and raspberries will find their way in the kids’ tummies before becoming part of the tart. I couldn’t blame them.
A banana split cake dessert that brings together bananas, pineapple, strawberries, chocolate and cherries on a graham cracker crust. I bet it tastes as amazing as it looks.
