Grocery shopping is me time for many moms. Not for me. I enjoy taking my oldest along. This is our special time together, though the only reason he comes is because he knows some new cookies or crackers or whatever else he likes will end up in our cart. What can I say? He asks so nicely that I eventually cave in.
My me time is when I take the boys to a playground. I use that time to relax, flip through the pages of a magazine, read a book, check my phone …Sometimes, I can be seen gathering pinecones (for our pinecone crafts) or colorful leaves.
This easy Thanksgiving craft uses some of the beautiful autumn leaves I brought home last week.
Materials: butternut squash, brown craft paint, paper plate, leaves, hot glue, white, red and orange foam sheets, black marker
Step 1: Paint the butternut brown and let it dry.
Step 2: Cut out the turkey’s face from the white, red and orange foam sheets and glue everything on the butternut.
Step 3: Cut a paper plate in half and glue the leaves on the edge to resemble feathers. Glue the paper plate to the back of the butternut.
