My family is a big fan of Gru and his Minion friends. We were obviously looking forward to watching Despicable Me 3 in theater. I personally found the previous movies funnier. But nevertheless, Minions remain among our favorite characters. One thing I found hilarious is how the Minions looked in their jail uniforms. I loved their outfit so much that I had to come up with a Minions in jail craft.
I’ve tried my hand before at painting minion rocks. So when my youngest saw me handling stones painted half yellow, he guessed right away what I was about to make.
These minions in jail are a bit more complicated to paint as there are more details but equally fun to play with.

Supplies:

How to paint minions in jail rocks
Step 1: Start by painting half of the rocks yellow. Depending on the stone color, you may have to apply 2 or 3 coats of paint.
Step 2: On the bottom half, I used a pencil to draw a pocket and then the stripes. Alternate black and white paint for the stripes and leave the pocket white.
Step 3: Use a black and gray markers for the pocket details. Outline the pocket with gray and write the number with black.
Step 4: Draw the eyes and then paint them as detailed as you like. Don’t forget about the mouth.
