We love creating with paper plates and made seasonal unicorns already.

Check out our bunny unicorn and our St Patrick’s Day unicorn.

Now, with Christmas around the corner, we thought a reindeer unicorn would be a great craft to try.

Because we couldn’t make up our mind, we made two versions of the reindeer unicorn.

For the second version, we painted the whole paper plate and added mistletoe for a little more Christmassy magic.

I still can’t decide which is my favorite.

My boys may not be much into unicorns but they will not turn their back to a Christmas craft: reindeer, Santa, elves or Christmas trees. We’re also making ornaments and gifts for our loved ones. It’s only November but with all the stores already decorated for the holidays, it’s very easy to get into the Christmas spirit already.

How to make a paper plate reindeer unicorn craft

Painted paper plate

Start by painting the top part of your paper plate brown.

While you are waiting for the paint to dry completely, trace on brown paper the antlers, the ears and the ears details. Use 3 different brown hues, the darkest goes for the antlers and the other two for the ears.

Unicorn horn

Trace the unicorn horn on glitter foam and cut it out. Glue it to the back of the paper plate.

Reindeer unicorn antlers

Glue the antlers onto the paper plate, one on each side of the unicorn horn.

Reindeer unicorn ears

Add  the ears onto the paper plate, one ear on each side.

Reindeer unicorn nose

Use a circle punch to make a circle from red paper. This will be the reindeer’s nose. If you don’t have a circle punch, use any round household item you can find, like a small container or cup to trace a circle on red paper and then cut it out.

Reindeer unicorn eyes

Draw the unicorn’s sleepy eyes with a black marker.
