This pom pom ice cream craft is so cute and fun to make! While we used pom pom makers, if you don’t have one, you can use a piece of cardboard or even your own hand.
Whether you’re celebrating National Ice Cream Day (the third Sunday in July!), embracing summer, or adding a creative touch to a birthday party, this easy pom pom ice cream craft will be a hit with kids of all ages.
I have been teaching craft classes and camps for a few years, and I always like to incorporate pom pom making because everyone likes them. I haven’t met a kid, yet, girl or boy, to tell me they don’t like making pom poms.
Making pom poms is a fun activity on its own. You can use one or more yarn colors and come up with all sorts of designs. From one half in one color and the other half another color, to sprinkle-looking pom poms.

Pom pom ice cream craft

Supplies:
- Yarn
- Pom pom maker
- Scissors
- Pattern paper
- Tape
- Hot glue
Use a pom pom maker to make pom poms. While you can use some other methods, like cardboard, fork or even your hand, I find that the easiest and the most fun way to make pom pom is to use one of these pom pom maker tools.
They come in four sizes, and we used the biggest size for our pom poms.
Make a cone from pattern paper and hot glue the pom pom to the cone.
