We have quite a few of reindeer in our collection of Christmas crafts but I couldn’t resist making another reindeer craft. Rudolph is too cute not to make one every year for Christmas.
This reindeer is part of our mini Christmas craft series, together with this gingerbread man and this snowman. I will also add soon Santa and an elf. All the characters have the same body and head. Then we add all the elements that are specific to each of them.
This reindeer makes a great craft to make at home or in the classroom. Decorate the hallway, if you’re a teacher and use the idea in the classroom with your students, or add it to the rest of your Christmas decorations. You may want to add the year to the back of the reindeer in case you want to keep it.
Reindeer craft
Supplies:
- Reindeer template
- Cardstock paper: white, brown, red and another color
- Black marker
- Scissors
- Glue
I love crafting with cardstock paper because it’s a sturdy material but you can replace it with construction paper.
How to Make a Reindeer Craft
The reindeer template comes with two versions:
1. home template – print the template, cut out the patterns and trace them on appropriate colored paper
2. classroom template – print the pattern directly on colored paper and cut them out.
This way you can easily craft with just one or two kids as well as with a classroom full of students.
STEP BY STEP DIRECTIONS FOR HOME CRAFTING
Start by gluing the scarf onto the body.
Glue the head and the body together.
Glue the antlers to the back of the head, one antler on each side.
Glue the ears to the back of the head, one ear under each antler.
Glue the eyes onto the head.
Glue the nose under the eyes.
Use a black marker to draw a smile.
