Shape Snowman Craft

Sharing is caring!

Let’s pair winter crafting with math and make an easy shape snowman craft today. We’ll review several shapes: circle, oval, square, rectangle, triangle and hexagon.

This is a great craft for preschoolers, kindergartners and first graders. You can make it at home with them, or if you are a teacher, in the classroom with your students.

You can draw the shapes yourself or you can use the snowman template I have prepared. Add more shapes, or stick to the ones in the template.

With each snowman craft, the kids can work with two or three different shapes: the head, the eyes and the nose. While we matched the eye shape with the head shape in our craft, you can mix it up. The nose will remain the same shape: a triangle.

The paper snowman also comes with a cute hat. You can add some small snowflakes to it or another detail, if you like.

This snowman is a great addition to our snowman craft collection as well as our shape crafts. We really enjoy including shapes in our crafts and have created quite a few shape crafts along the years, from this adorable shape Cat in the Hat to this popular shape Santa.

How to make a shape snowman craft

The shape snowman template comes with two versions:

1. Option 1 – print the pattern directly on colored paper and cut them out.

2. Option 2 – print the template, cut out the patterns and trace them on appropriate paper.

This way you can easily craft with just one or two kids as well as with a classroom full of students.

Step by step directions

To make  the shape snowman, you will need: 1 white snowman head, 1 black hat, 1 orange nose and 2 eyes.

Start by gluing the hat on top of the head.

Glue the eyes onto the head.

Glue the nose under the eyes

Use a black marker to draw the mouth.
