The Creation story handprint craft is a fun way to teach kids about God’s creation. Use the simple printable at home, in the classroom or for Sunday School.
If you are a Sunday School teacher looking for an interactive way to explain the story of creation to preschoolers and kindergartners, you will love this handprint craft.
God created the world in seven days:
- Day 1: God created light and separated it from darkness, calling the light “day” and the darkness “night”
- Day 2: God created the sky and separated the waters of the heavens from the waters of the earth
- Day 3: God created the land and seas, and vegetation
- Day 4: God created the sun, moon, and stars
- Day 5: God created birds and sea creatures
- Day 6: God created land animals and humans
- Day 7: God rested from his work, which is known as the Sabbath
The seven days are nicely represented in our craft template with circles, ready for kids to color.
The next step would be to personalize the craft with seven handprints.
The Creation story handprint craft could be a classroom project.

How to make the Creation story handprint craft
Print the template on white cardstock paper and color it.
Cut out the Earth and the seven scenes.
Trace the kid’s handprint on green and blue construction paper. Cut out four green handprints and three blue handprints.
Start gluing the handprints on the edge of the Earth, next to the numbers. Start with a green handprint and alternate the colors until you have glued all handprints onto the Earth.
Glue the scenes in order, in the middle of the handprints. There will be a scene on each handprint.
Cut a strand of yarn and tape it to the back of the Earth so you can hang the craft as a decoration.
