Make learning shapes fun this fall with my shape turkey craft!
Kids can build their own turkey using circles, triangles, squares, rectangles, and hexagons, making it a perfect mix of Thanksgiving art and math activity.

Kids will get to use the following shapes: circle, square, triangle, rectangle, oval, hexagon and rhombus. These will be the turkey bodies. All the eyes are circles, the feet are rectangles, the snoods are rhombus, the beaks are triangles and the feathers are triangles too.

These shape turkeys are a great addition to our Thanksgiving craft collection. If you check out our Thanksgiving crafts, you will find a lot of turkey crafts. But in the next few weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, I’ll be adding some other shapes: pilgrim, Native American and Mayflower boat.

How to make a shape turkey craft
The shape turkey template comes with two versions:
1. home template – cut out the patterns and trace them on corresponding colored paper.
2. classroom template – print the pattern directly on colored paper and cut them out.
This way you can easily craft with just one or two kids as well as with a classroom full of students.

Step by step directions for home crafting
Start by gluing the eyes at the top of the body.

Glue the snood and beak together and glue them in the middle of the body.

Glue the feet at the bottom of the body.

Glue 5 feathers to the back of the body.
