These craft stick caramel apples are a fun and easy fall craft idea to try with your kids. All you need is craft sticks, paint, paper and glue – materials you will find in a crafty house. If you have a bag of those colored craft sticks, you will skip the painting step and move on directly to gluing.
The caramel apple craft is a nice addition to our fall crafts and the apple crafts. Throughout the years we have used so many supplies to create apples, from paper plates to paper rolls.
Caramel apples are my favorite fall treat, next to anything pumpkin. And making these popsicle stick caramel apples is so easy that we had to give them a try.
Craft sticks are amazing tools for kids. You can use them for crafts, building or creating all sorts of other things. When my son started being more confident using the hot glue gun on his own, he went through my whole big bag of crafts sticks.

While hot glue is great when crafting with popsicle sticks, I used tacky glue for these caramel apples. I wanted to keep the craft preschool friendly and the tacky glue worked great. I think even a glue stick would work well.
Craft stick caramel apples

Suplies:
- Two size craft sticks
- Red and green craft paint – this is my favorite brand
- Brown cardstock paper or construction paper
- Paintbrush
- Tacky glue
- Scissors
Step-by-step instructions
Start by painting 6 small craft sticks green and other 6 small craft sticks red. Set them aside to get completely dry.
You can use colored craft sticks and skip the painting step.
Glue the 6 painted craft sticks at the bottom of a big craft stick.
Use a pencil to draw the caramel on brown paper and cut it out.
Glue the brown paper onto the big craft stick, just above the painted small craft sticks.
