Our Mother’s Day handprint card turned out so adorable that we just had to make a dad version, too. We have created footprints for a Father’s Day craft before but this is our first handprint craft dedicated to celebrating dad. This Father’s Day handprint card can be adapted for grandpa too. Just paint the hair grey and there you go: a perfect card for grandfather.
Personalize the card with paint to match dad’s hair color and accessorize it with glasses, hat, bow tie or a tie.
Father’s Day handprint card
- White cardstock paper
- Paint to match dad’s hair
- Black marker
- Construction paper of different colors
Step 1: Take the white cardstock paper and fold it in half. Trace your child’s right hand on the paper and make sure the fingers are close together and next to the fold line. Cut out the handprint card.
Step 2: Paint the fingers to match dad’s hair color.
Step 3: Use a black marker to draw the eyes, nose and mouth. You can add a mustache to make it even cuter, even if dad doesn’t wear one.
If you prefer, you can use googly eyes instead of drawing them.
Step 4: Draw a hat, bow tie or tie on construction paper, cut them out and glue them to the card.
Step 5: Write a sweet message inside the card.
