My son loves helping out his dad. Whenever tools are taken out for some job, he’s there asking their names and trying to figure out how to use them. He is dad’s biggest helper. This is what inspired me to create this Father’s Day handy dad heart card. It is sweet and simple. Kids will have fun making it and dads will love receiving one.
Handy dad heart card for Father’s Day
- Dad heart card template
- Beige cardstock paper
- Blue, black, red and gray construction paper
- Black marker
- Circle punch
Step 1: Download the dad heart card template and cut out all the patterns.
Step 2: Fold the beige cardstock paper in half and trace the heart, making sure to align one side of the heart to the fold.
Step 3: Make 1″ cut in the middle of the top flip of the heart card and fold the sides to the outside to create the collar.
Step 4: Trace the overalls, straps and pocket on blue paper. Glue the overalls onto the heart and align the two. Glue the straps on the heart, one on each side of the overalls.
Use a circle punch to make 2 buttons from black paper and glue the buttons at the end of each strap.
Step 5: Trace the tools on gray paper and cut them out. You can also use red paper for some details of the tools. Glue all the tools to one side of the pocket and glue the pocket in the middle of the overalls.
Step 6: Use the black marker to write DAD in the middle of the pocket and a sweet little message inside the card.
