The Hooked On Dad card is a classic Father’s Day card that kids can make for their dads. It can come with different messages: “Dad, you’re a great catch!”, “Dad, you are fin-tastic!”, “It’s O-Fish-Cial, you’re a great dad!” or “I’m O-Fish-Ally hooked on you daddy!” They all show in a cute funny way how much you appreciate dad. Chose your favorite message and write it down on your card.
We love how the Handy Dad card turned out so we wanted to come up with a variation. The “I’m hooked on you, dad”! idea seemed great to go on a heart card.
This card is easy to make especially as it comes with a template. Just print, cut out and glue together.

Supplies:
- Hooked on dad template
- Light blue cardstock paper
- Blue and orange construction paper
- Black marker
- Scissors
- Glue
How to make the Hooked On Dad card
The Hooked on dad template comes with two versions:
1. home template – print the template, cut out the patterns and trace them on corresponding paper.
2. classroom template – print the pattern directly on colored paper and cut them out.
This way you can easily craft with just one or two kids as well as with a classroom full of students.
STEP BY STEP DIRECTIONS FOR HOME CRAFTING
Print the home template on orange paper. Cut out the heart and water patterns and trace them on corresponding colored paper.
Cut out the orange fish and use as is.
Fold the light blue cardstock paper in half and trace the heart on the folded paper, making sure to align the left side of the heart to the fold.
To make the Hooked On Dad card, you will need one light blue folded heart, 1 blue water and 1 orange fish.
Glue the blue water at the bottom of the heart card.
Add the orange fish in the middle of the water.
Use a black marker to draw the fishing line and hook.
Write “I’m Hooked On You, Dad!” to the outside of your card and “Happy Father’s Day!” to the inside.

Print the classroom template on corresponding colored paper.
The water is printed on blue paper and the fish on orange paper.
Cut out the heart pattern. Fold the light blue cardstock paper in half and trace the heart on the folded paper, making sure to align the left side of the heart to the fold.
To make the Hooked On Dad card, each student will need one light blue folded heart, 1 blue water and 1 orange fish.
