An easy paper cup hot chocolate craft for kids to make on a winter day.
The hot chocolate mug is glued to a paper plate, making this craft adorable and great to display in the classroom or at home.
It is a low prep craft and perfect for teachers to make with students. All you have to do is cut the paper cups in half and hot glue them in the middle of the paper plates. Students can take it from there and add the handle, hot chocolate and steam.
If you’re doing the craft at home with your kids, you can use a low temp glue gun.
We made our craft with colored paper plates and paper cups. If you only have white plates and cups, you may want to paint them first and let them dry completely before starting the craft.

History of hot chocolate
Did you know that hot chocolate started as a cold and spicy beverage? Originating from Mexico, the drink was brought to Europe, where in time evolved to sweet and hot, as we know it today.
It was the English who started adding milk to their hot chocolate and the Dutch who made it easier to prepare by inventing the cocoa powder.
You can still find spiced hot chocolate in Latin America and thick chocolate in Spain or Italy – I would be curious to try them all.
Hot chocolate has quite an interesting history.
