To make this craft, kids will have to tear colored construction paper into small pieces and glue them all together onto a large piece of paper in the shape of an owl.
Tearing paper may seem like a simple activity but it has several benefits. Torn paper owl craft

Supplies:
- Owl craft printable template
- Craft paper: white, orange, yellow and several shades of brown
- Black cardstock paper for background
- Pencil for tracing handprint
- Scissors
- Glue
The printable template comes with two options:
- Option 1 – print directly on colored paper
- Option 2 – trace patterns on colored paper
How to make the handprint owl
Start by gluing torn brown paper pieces onto the owl shape, until you have covered it completely.
Glue the eyes and beak onto the owl.
Trace the kid’s hands on brown paper, cut the handprints out and glue them on the sides of the owl. One handprint on each side of the owl.
Glue the feet at the bottom of the body.
Glue branch at the very bottom of the black background paper.
Add the owl in the middle of the black paper, with its feet on the tree branch.
Glue several stars around the owl.
Give the owl a bow tie or a hair bow.
