Make these adorable heart windsocks with your kids and use them to decorate your house for Valentine’s Day.
Get ready for Valentine’s Day with this easy craft that will show you how to recycle tin cans into windsocks. You will also use heart stickers and crepe streamers and I can guarantee kids will love it. Make sure you have extra stickers for your little ones. Once we were done decorating our windsocks, my boys moved on to embellishing their paintings (done earlier that day) with hearts. Cutting crepe streamers into different size piece was also something they enjoyed doing a lot.

Tin can heart windsocks supplies:
- tin can
- pink and red paint
- heart stickers
- pink and red crepe streamers
- hot glue
- fishing line
These are the craft materials that we used but you can replace the crepe streamers with ribbons or the hot glue with Elmer’s glue. (You just need to wait until the glue dries before taking your windsocks outside).
Step 1: Remove the bottom of the tin can as well as the label.
Step 2: Paint the tin can. You can paint it red, pink or even white. We applied two layers of paint.
Step 3: Decorate the tin can with heart stickers.
Step 4: Cut 8 pieces of the crepe streamer of the same length. We used two colors but just pink or red will work just fine. Glue them at the bottom of the tin can, on the inside. Because we used two colors, we started with 4 streamers of the first color and then added a top layer of the 4 streamers of color no. 2.
Step 5: Cut a a 12 – 14 inch length of fishing line and glue it to the top of the tin can.
