If your kids have already started school or if back to school is just around the corner for your family, this school bus craft is a great idea to try around this time of the year.
A while back I created this school bus shape card that is a good craft to make with kids if you want them to learn or review shapes. We love shape crafts, but the school bus craft I’m sharing today is just a regular bus. Easy, like all our 200+ crafts for kids, and with big patterns for young kids.

My kids won’t be riding the school bus this year and although they miss being with their friends, they appreciate being able to sleep a bit later in the morning. Also we’re more flexible when we get out of the house and they enjoy this. I have to say, so do I.

How to make a school bus craft
The school bus template comes with two versions:
1. home template – cut out the patterns and trace them on corresponding colored paper.
2. classroom template – print the pattern directly on colored paper and cut them out.
This way you can easily craft with just one or two kids as well as with a classroom full of students.
Step by step instructions
Start by gluing the wheels at the bottom of the bus.
Glue the windows onto the bus. Add first the driver’s window and the last window. Continue with the two windows in the middle.
Glue the STOP sign.
Glue the two lights one in the front and one in the back.
