Earth Day was first time celebrated in 1970, which means that this year, in 2020, it is its 50th anniversary. There are many fun ways you can celebrate Earth Day with your kids and if crafting is something they enjoy, I would suggest this Earth Day heart craft.
Here are some other ways to celebrate Earth Day:
- Build a bird feeder from recyclables
- Start a grass head pot
- Plant a tree or some flowers
- Make a bug hotel
- Build a birdhouse
- Use items from your recycling bin to incorporate into your crafts, like paper rolls
Although we have created a climate change craft for Earth Day earlier this year, we usually like to create crafts to show how much we love our planet. What better way to do that than to incorporate hearts?
We made a 3D heart Earth craft, Earth Day windsocks and this paper plate heart craft that is similar in concept with the heart craft we’re sharing today.
A heart in the middle of a paper plate. But if for our previous craft we used yard to make the heart, now we went for torn paper. Such a fun project for little hands. Young kids can practice their fine motor skills while tearing paper into small pieces.
