Show dad how much you love him with an adorable “One In A Melon” handprint Father’s Day craft. Of course, this craft can be easily adapted for grandpa also. I have created a free printable template that you can find at the end of this article and it comes with a message for dad or grandpa.
Over the years we have created many Father’s Day crafts that come with cute messages: “Dad, I love you to the moon and back”, “Loads of love, dad!” , “Hooked on dad!” and “My dad rocks”. It’s time for a new one. To give a more personal touch to our new craft, we made with a a handprint.
We love handprint crafts and we know that our adorable “One in a melon” craft will melt daddy’s heart.

How to make a “One in a melon” Father’s Day craft
Start by tracing your child handprint onto red cardstock or construction paper. Trace a curve towards the bottom of the handprint and then another one above the first one. Cut along the curved lines.
Trace the bottom part onto green paper and the middle part onto white paper. We have now our watermelon handprint.
Glue the watermelon handprint onto the “One in a melon” template. Choose between “Dad, you are one in a melon!” and “Grandpa, you are one in a melon!”
Glue two googly eyes on the red part of the handprint.
Cut out two seeds from black paper and glue them onto the handprint as a mustache.
Use a black marker to draw a mouth under the eyes. You can also add a personal message to dad, like “I love you dad!” or “Happy Father’s Day!”
